Notiz Me: Privacy Policy
What the app stores
Notes, to-dos, voice recordings, photos you add to notes, clips you save, and your settings. All of this is stored on your device.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, Notiz Me syncs your notes, to-dos and voice notes between your own iPhone, iPad and Mac using Apple's CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. Only you (through your Apple Account) can read it, and the developer has no access to it. Clips stay on the device unless you turn on “Sync clips” in Settings. You can manage or delete your iCloud data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.
Microphone and speech recognition
The microphone is used only when you record a voice note. The recording is saved inside that note.
To turn a voice note into text, Notiz Me uses Apple's speech recognition. Where your device supports it, this happens on the device. Otherwise, the audio may be sent to Apple to be processed, under Apple's own privacy terms. The developer never receives the audio or the text.
Notifications
Reminders you set are scheduled on your device. Notiz Me does not use push messages to contact you.
Clipboard
Notiz Me never reads your clipboard in the background. A clip is saved only when you tap Paste in Clips or, if you choose to turn it on in Settings, when you open the app. On the Mac, clipboard history is kept, and items that other apps mark as secret (such as password managers) are skipped.
Mac: global shortcut
On the Mac, the optional global shortcut (Option+Space) uses the Input Monitoring permission only to register that one shortcut. Notiz Me does not log, store or transmit any keystrokes.
Diagnostic log
The app keeps a small log of errors and crashes on your device. It holds no notes, clips or recordings. It leaves your device only if you choose Settings → Share diagnostic log and send it to the developer.
Sharing
Your information is not sold, rented or shared. The only other party involved is Apple (iCloud and speech recognition), as described above.
Children
Notiz Me is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete any note in the app; deleted notes stay in Trash for the period you choose in Settings. Deleting the app removes the data on that device. Data in your iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. A future version that adds other sync options will update this page first.
